What We Do

We are both in our 70's. Danny retired from his profession at the age of 72 years, so whilst he was working the money situation wasn't too bad, but now it has become much harder to survive.

Most of the building work is done by Danny, but we do have a Local Community Group who assist, free of charge, with the building of the runs and sheds. The material and timber for the runs and sheds is very expensive, as is the insulation material bought for the sheds that do not have heaters.

We are continually desperately in need of funds to help with the Veterinary bills and the feeding of the cats, mostly feral. Any kittens that are born here or brought in, and some adults, are easily homed, but the feral ones and others, for one reason or another which we are unable to re home, are allowed to live out their lives peacefully at our Centre. The have warm shelter, food and all the necessary veterinary care for as long as they need. Sadly, despite all our hard work, the number of unwanted kittens and cats continues to rise.

There are lots of feral cats in the area which we try to trap and then have them spayed/neutered before returning them, where possible, back to their local environment.

We are, however, unable to take in every cat or kitten brought into the Centre, and this applies to all the Rescue Centres in and around this area, but we do make an exception when the cat is injured, poorly or pregnant.
